Overview

The Personal Property Activity (PPA) is responsible for managing the global household goods and privately owned vehicle program for the Department of War and U.S. Coast Guard. Its mission is to oversee all aspects of the moving and storage process, providing service members, civilians, and their families with the policy, resources, and support needed for a successful relocation.

The PPA was established to directly address feedback from service members and their families regarding the challenges of the PCS process. In response to concerns about quality, accountability, and the overall moving experience, the Department of War created this dedicated activity. The goal is to provide a more reliable and supportive relocation process, recognizing that every move is about more than just household goods, it's about families.
